Albany courtyard seating
The Albany is a residential and restaurant complex in Liverpool, built around an 18th century courtyard. The project landscape architects were looking for someone who could design three illuminated feature seating units, get them made and then installed on site. We delivered on all three requirements - on time and on budget. Winner of 'Best low cost project' at the 2007 Roses Design Awards.
Services delivered:
- Creation of the design concepts with the landscape architects
- Technical design of the seats, including lighting and power supplies
- Sourcing manufacturers for GRP and stainless steel parts
- Managing production of tooling and parts
- Installation and commissioning of seating
"Crucible’s ability to think outside the box and push the practical boundaries of the project made sure that the end result was not only incredibly striking, but relatively easy to manufacture and install. "
